COLON HEALTH

When you see dirt on your skin, you wash it off.  When you have a sore on your skin, you take steps to heal it.  On the other hand, the toxic build up of feces in your colon is ignored.  What would happen if you did not bath your skin and hair for 10, 20, 30 years?  How would you feel with all of this accumulated dirt and oil?  After years of eating a low fiber, high processed/fat food diet, your colon will accumulate feces that will harden unto the sides of your colon.  Concern for colon health is often never thought about because people are unaware of what is going on inside of them.  If you could see daily what is happening in your colon, you would make colon health a priority.  Many symptoms that you are having such as fatigue and pain may be caused by problems occurring in your colon such as constipation and autotoxisity (self-poisoning caused by bad bacteria, decaying flesh food, and other toxins absorbing in your body).  People in industrialized societies, such as ours, suffer from the highest incidences of digestive and colon problems.  Constipation is an epidemic in this country.  In this document, I will cover the factors that contribute to poor colon health and things you can do to maintain good colon health.

Do you have a poorly functioning colon?

There are 7 characteristics of a poorly functioning colon:

1)      Having less than 2-3 large bowel movements a day.

2)      Having difficulty passing your bowel contents.

3)      Having a hard stool that sinks.

4)      Having chronic diarrhea.

5)      Having chronic constipation.

6)      Having excess gas and abdominal cramping.

7)      Having inadequate exercise and insufficient dietary fiber and water in your diet.

If you have any of the above, you have a poorly functioning colon.

In his book, Colon Health: The Key to a Vibrant Life, Norman W. Walker, D.Sc., Ph.D. states, "The elimination of undigested food and other waste products is equally as important as the proper digestion and assimilation of food.  Infirmity and sickness, at any age, is the direct result of loading up the body with food, which contains no vitality, and at the same time allowing the intestine to remain loaded with waste matter.  The fact of the matter is that constipation is the number one affliction underlying nearly every ailment.  Short-term afflictions resulting from the absorption of mucus and toxic waste from the colon into the rest of the body include pimples, sore throats, colds, hay fever, sinus, eye and ear problems.  Afflictions of a more long-term nature caused by a constant influx of toxemia into the body from the colon include degeneration or cancer in vital organs."  When your colon is clogged by a build-up of feces, it will cause multiple colon and health problems.  (Picture by V.E. Irons from the Healthview Newsletter)

“The intestine may harbor the seeds of disease in the form of a false lining that blocks nutrient absorption and creates toxicity.  Many illnesses such as a number of cancers, most allergies, infections, liver diseases, acne, psoriasis, and asthma, start in the intestine.  The intestine becomes clogged, toxic, and diseased by what and how we eat and by how poorly we eliminate waste material.  Once the bowel is toxic, it creates toxicity for the entire body and an inability to absorb the nutrients necessary for health and healing” (Diamond MD, Cowden MD, Goldberg).  A clogged up colon is the perfect environment and breeding ground for parasites.

Just as the pipes in your home accumulates a slimy, protein build-up, so your colon accumulates a build-up of thick, sticky mucus and poorly digested food debris on its sides, which slows up the drainage of the food stuffs you eat.  This build-up occurs when you eat the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.), and when your diet is deficient in fiber and water.  The following foods/drinks from the SAD diet clog up your central drain (colon) and cause poor colon health:

1.       White flour - sticky and gummy.  In grade school, I made paste out of white flour.

2.       Fats - very sticky

3.       Meat - a lot of mucus is produced to help digest it, and this mucus is very sticky.  It is written that it takes up to three days for flesh to pass out of your colon.  Meanwhile, this poorly digested rotting flesh causes toxins to accumulate in your colon and body.

4.       Dairy - this is the most mucus forming substance you could put in your mouth.

5.       Alcohol, soda, coffee, and other caffeinated drinks - causes water to be removed from your body to flush these toxic drinks from your body.  This causes chronic dehydration.  The average American only drinks 1-4 cups of water/day, which causes dehydration.  Dehydration makes mucus thick and stickier.  Dehydration causes you to loose more water out of your colon, which causes the fecal matter to be hard and the mucus to stick to the sides of the colon and dry on.  Over time this accumulated mucus and poorly digested food debris narrows the passageway for stool to be removed.  Thus you back up, which is called constipation.  When you are not eliminating 2-3 times a day, you are absorbing toxins into your body, which causes disease and cancer.

The colon has reflexes that affect other parts of your body, so if your colon is diseased in one part, it will specifically affect another part of you body.  For example, if your ascending colon (goes up right side of abdomen) is swollen and pocketing, you may have liver issues, breathing issues or pain in your back.  If you have budging in the turns of your colon (upper left and right quadrants of abdomen), you may have ear issues or dizziness.  If your transverse colon (crosses top of abdomen) is congested with encrusted fecal matter, you may have sinus congestion, allergies, foggy thinking, or memory loss.  If your descending colon (goes down left side of abdomen) is enlarged and contain pockets filled with old fecal matter, you may have heart trouble, shoulder or arm problems/pain, or spleen issues.

A healthy colon is about 5 ft. long and 2 1/2 inches in diameter.  It weighs 2-3 lbs., but the average American's colon weighs 10-15 lbs.  It is not uncommon for an unhealthy colon to weigh 60 lbs.  When John Wayne died, the autopsy revealed that his colon weighed 80 lbs.  The colon's main function is to remove water from the chyme (digesting food particles), and bulk up the stool.  Friendly bacteria continue to further breakdown any partially digested food/meat substances.  Friendly bacteria make nutrients such as vitamin K and some of the B vitamins.  Your colon should eliminate its contents every 8-12 hours.

Eight steps to a Healthy Colon:

1.       Consume raw vegetation up to 75-85% of your diet.

2.       Increase fiber to 25-30 grams/day by taking a natural fiber supplement.

3.       DRINK WATER!  Water is nature's best stool softener.  To figure out the amount to drink, divide your body weight by two and this will equal the ounces of water you need to consume every day.  (Minimum of 8 cups).

4.       Eliminate refined, white flour and sugar, processed and deep-fried foods, dairy, and soda.  All of these substances will bind you up tighter than a drum.

5.       Exercise.  Your colon is a muscle, and it needs exercise just like the rest of your muscles.

6.       To aid in the most thorough bowel movement place your feet on a stool about 10 inches high.  This squat type position produces a more natural way to pass your bowels.  It supports your abdominal muscles and colon muscle.

7.       Take a flora/probiotic (good bacteria) supplement, which contains two of the most common forms of good bacteria - acidophilus and Bifido bacterium.

8.       Keep your colon cleansed by having Colon Hydrotherapy on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.

What is colon hydrotherapy?

Colon Hydro (water) therapy is also referred to as a colonic.  Colon hydrotherapy washes out the colon of toxic, dirty debris, and it loosens up old encrusted fecal matter from the sides of your colon using state of the art equipment by Dotolo, Corp.  Just as it is important to cleanse your skin and teeth, it is just as important to cleanse your colon.  A cleaner colon leads to cleaner blood, which leads to cleaner tissues, which leads to healthier cells that rebuilds a healthier body.

Each client receives his or her own disposable water tube, waste hose, and speculum (inserted into rectum).  Your colon is cleansed by pure, warm water that is administered at a very low pressure into your colon.  The pressure is much lower than a standard enema.  The colon hydrotherapy equipment has a pressure gauge that monitors pressure in your colon thereby preventing over filling and evacuation accidents.  Your colon contents along with the water is evacuated through a disposable 1 inch hose that enters a closed septic system.  Between   2-6 quarts of water will be delivered during a 40-minute session.  The goal is to cleanse the whole 5+ feet of your colon.  Modesty is maintained throughout the procedure.

Colon hydrotherapy will not interrupt normal bowel patterns.  Instead, it will strengthen your colon muscle and enhance a more thorough evacuation.  Colon hydrotherapy will also remove toxic build-up from the sides of your colon.  You will have more energy and a greater sense of well-being.  Weight loss will also occur, and many ill symptoms will resolve.  A multitude of health problems will benefit from this regular cleansing.

What are the benefits of colon hydrotherapy?

  1. More energy
  2. Healthy colon
  3. Prevention of cancer
  4. Prevention of diverticulitis
  5. Relief of constipation
  6. Slows down the aging process
  7. Detoxification
  8. Improves mental clarity
  9. Aids healthy cell production
  10. Strengthens the immune system
  11. Weight loss
  12. Decreased stress on body organs and tissues

How often should you get your colon cleansed?

Every person's bowel situation is different.  If you have been following the steps to a healthy colon, then you may only need a monthly or bi-monthly routine cleansing.  If you answered yes to any of the questions for having a poorly functioning colon, then it may take 3-5 colonics in two weeks to start to resolve your bowel issues.  Then a monthly or a bi-monthly cleansing is recommended to maintain a healthy colon.

Is there anyone who should not have Colon             Hydrotherapy?

If you have any of the following conditions, then it is not advised for you to get a colonic.

How to prepare for your colonic sessions:

Start to do all of the steps under “How to have a healthy Colon.”  A few days before your colonic session eat all raw vegetation and whole grains and drink lemon cleanse.  This will start to loosen hard-encrusted fecal matter in your colon.  I want to encourage you to follow these steps for the rest of your life.

.

"Lemon Cleanse" recipe:

In a 2 qt. jar add:

3/4 cup of fresh lemon juice (3-4 lemons)

Fill the 2 qt. jar with pure water (distilled is best).

Shake as you drink it throughout the day.  Drink it 1/2 hour between vegetable juices.

What will a colon hydrotherapy session cost?

The initial visit will last 1 1/2 -2 hours.  The cost will be $70, and it will include a health questionnaire, health assessment, iris analysis, abdominal exam, and colonic.  If you desire to forgo a health assessment and a full iris analysis, then your cost will be $65.

There are three packages for you to choose from:
