DETOXIFICATION

It needs to happen for healing to occur, so expect it; work through it, and it will pass.
What came first – the dump or the rats? Disease, CANCER, abnormal cells, and malfunctioning cells are rats that live in a toxic body dump! Clean the dump and the rats will go away!
The authors of the book “Alternative Medicine the Definitive Guide” (2002) write, “Today people are exposed to chemicals in far greater concentrations than were previous generations: over 69 million Americans live in areas that exceed smog standards; most drinking water contains over 700 chemicals, including excessive levels of lead; some 3,000 chemicals are added to the food supply; and as many as 10,000 chemicals in the form of solvents, emulsifiers, and preservatives are used in food processing and storage, which can remain in the body for years…….. When people consume these foods, especially seafood, meat, and poultry, they ingest all the chemicals and pesticides that have remained as accumulated contaminants in the food chain.” (p. 168). Marshall Mandell, M.D. states, “The current level of chemicals in the food and water supply and indoor and outdoor environment has lowered our threshold of resistance to disease and has altered our body’s metabolism, causing enzyme dysfunction, nutritional deficiencies, and hormonal imbalances.” (p. 168). By 1980, the Environmental Protection Agency had detected over 400 toxic chemicals in human tissue. Of the 400 toxic chemicals, 48 were found in fat tissue, 40 in breast milk, 73 in the liver, and 250 in the blood. Brain, breast, and prostate fatty tissues become a dumping site for toxic chemicals in the body hence the increased incidence of these cancers.
What are toxins? They are poisons – any substance that impairs health or destroys life when ingested, inhaled, or absorbed by the body (Mosby’s Medical Dictionary, 6th ed. 2002).
1. Accumulated cellular waste
2. Accumulated pathogenic, yeast, and/or parasitic waste
3. Mold spores and Allergens
4. Heavy metal (lead, mercury, aluminum, etc.)
5. Petrochemical (propylene glycol, petroleum oils, gas, solvents, etc.)
6. Chemical (tobacco, drugs, chemotherapy, cleaning agents, food additives, fumes, etc.)
7. Free Radicals – they form when an electron is removed from the outer ring of a molecule, which makes the molecule unstable. This then robs electrons from healthy cells to be stable, which now makes the cell unhealthy. These unhealthy, damaged cells need to be destroyed by the immune system, which creates toxic cellular debris. Tobacco smoke and grilling food are a few sources of free radicals. Microwave ovens create free radicals in food/liquids by removing electrons from their molecules. Your body makes free radicals using oxygen inside your cells through a process called “oxidation”, which produces cellular energy.
8. Radioactivity (radon, x-rays, computers, televisions, excess exposure to the sun or tanning beds, irradiated food, etc.)
9. Toxic Emotions i.e. hate, bitterness, despise, unforgiveness, anger, negative attitudes, etc…
How does your body get so toxic?
1. Excessive intake of toxins and free radicals:
a) Processed and commercial foods (food additives, drugs, hormones, pesticides, preservatives, etc.)
b) Chemical laden beauty products (petro-chemical) and cleaning products
c) Air pollution (smog, exhaust, allergens, smoke, mold spores, asbestos, fumes, excess positive ions, etc.)
d) Grilling, frying, microwaving, and broiling food/liquids.

3. Infestation of parasites, candida yeast, virus, bad bacteria, etc.
4. Blocked detoxification pathways – unable to move toxic substances out of the body.
a) Unbalanced Autonomic Nervous System
b) Congested Lymphatic System
c) Congested bowels (≤1 BM a day)
d) Malfunctioning liver
e) Sluggish kidneys
5. Dehydration – unable to flush toxic substances out of the body.
a) Less than 1/2 of body weight in oz. of water per day
b) Consuming alcohol, caffeinated sub-stances, soda, coffee, sugary drinks, etc.
6. Inactivity – contributes to blocked detoxification pathways.
7. Congenital (obtained by mother during pregnancy)
8. Harboring and internalizing negative emotions, which enter the cellular level.
Try to eliminate as many reasons for a toxic body as you can!
Before you venture out into a full-blown detox program you need to make sure your bowels are moving large, formed amounts 2-3 times a day and your liver and kidneys are fully functioning. Follow my Colon Cleansing, Kidney Flush, and Liver/Gall-bladder Flush instructions. A detoxification program may not be appropriate for someone who is under-weight, very physically weak, and/or debilitated.
Your liver, kidney, lung, intestinal, and cellular functions are governed by your Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). It is imperative that you keep this System balanced so that you will be able to fully detoxify your cells and body. It is equally as impor-tant to keep your Lymphatic System open and flow-ing to get the toxins out of your cellular level. Refer to my handouts on the ANS & Lymphatic Flow.
How do you detoxify your body?
Detoxification occurs when your cells dump toxins into your bloodstream upon starting a detox program or a high nutrition or weight loss program. These toxins are released into your bloodstream and are removed from your body through your skin, kidneys, intestine, lungs, and nasal passage. You may experience some of the following detoxification symptoms: blemishes (acne), skin rashes, headache, fatigue, irritability, moodiness, cough, clogged sinuses, cold symptoms, flu like symptom, fever, constipation, diarrhea, gas, stomachache/nausea.
The symptom(s) of detox may be mild or severe and last a few days to a few weeks depending on how toxic your body is deep within your 100 trillion cells. You may feel great after detoxifying then you may go through more detoxifying in a few more months when more toxins are rooted out from deep within your body’s cells. You will detoxify from the inside out and from greater toxicity to lesser (i.e. general toxins to radioactivity). You detoxify in layers like peeling an onion. The hardest thing to accept is that you are NOT SICK and to realize that your body is detoxifying, cleansing, and healing itself. The best thing to do when you are experiencing detoxifying symptoms is to drink a lot of water, rest yet take frequent walks, and keep your kidneys, liver, and colon flushed out. Depending on your previous dietary habits and lifestyle, it may take up to two to six years for your body to completely detoxify and rebuild to a state that will be your greatest possible health. If you continue to eat the Standard American Diet (S.A.D. diet) your body will be in a constant state of detoxification. Follow my directions to ultimate health, and my JBetz CANCER/DETOX Diet.
There are many methods of ridding your body of toxins to restore health. One such way is to take a detox bath using 1 c. Epsom salt and 1 c. baking soda. Soak 1-1 1/2 hours until water begins to cool. Do not make the water scalding hot. If you have chlorinated water, fill a knee-high nylon stocking with 1 c. charcoal used for fish filters (rinse well), then secure the nylon over the faucet with a rubber band so that the water runs through the charcoal.
Herbs, such as garlic, red clover, chaparral, dandelion, red beets, spanish black radish, and milk thistle, along with Vitamin C (4 gm.) will stimulate and aid the detoxification process. There are many detoxification preparations on the market. I encourage you to take one or several of them.
Coffee enemas help hasten toxins to exit your body and often relieve detox symptoms. In his book, A CANCER THERAPY, MaxGerson, M.D. writes that the coffee ingredients (i.e. caffeine and other substances) goes through the hemorrhoidal veins directly into the portal veins and into the liver where the coffee stimulates the liver cells to increase production of bile, open the bile ducts, and stimulate greater flow of bile, which contains toxins. The goal of coffee enemas is to decrease the toxic load of the liver so that it can continue to clean your blood and body of toxins. Eteinne Callebout, M.D. further states that coffee enemas stimulate enzymes capable of removing toxins from the blood. This effect does not happen when the coffee is consumed by mouth (Alternative Medicine 2002). It is very beneficial to do liquid Bentonite clay, fiber, and a detox bath after the coffee enema.
I encourage you to do the following Lemon Detox Cleanse along with juice fasting with vegetable and barley grass juices for 3-7 days or longer:
Drink 2 qt. of LEMON DETOX CLEANSE a day.
In a 2 qt. jar add the following, then pure water:
3/4 cup of fresh lemon juice (2 1/2-3 lemons) You may substitute a lime for one lemon.
Wash well. Organic is best. .
1/3-1/2 cup pure maple syrup
Diabetics are to use molasses to taste.
4 tsp. finely ground Indian turmeric
Shake or stir before drinking.
Drink 1/2 hr. between veg/grass juices/meals.
CAUTION: As your body detoxifies and begins to heal, you may notice that your medications may need to be adjusted. Use your discretion, and consult your doctor. If you have any non-metallic implants, parts, or fragments in your body, your body may reject these as your immune system strengthens and your body heals (Gerson, video).
1) 1/2 med. Red beet juiced or 1/2 tsp. AIMRediBeetsä in water or 8 oz. carrot/vegetable juice 2x/day. (Liver and blood cleanser.)
2) 1 TBS green drink, such as AIMBarleyLifeä or Barleygreenä 3x/day in water, apple juice, or vegetable juice.
3) Fiber/Herb preparation, such as AIMHerbal Fiberblendä 2x/day in 4-6 oz. of the LC. Follow with 8 oz. of plain LC drink. Do fiber ñ1/2 -1 hr. after juices.
4) 2 TBS of liquid Bentonite clay taken with the fiber, but not mixed in.
5) Coffee enema 1/day for 3 days (depending on detox symptoms). Do after taking bentonite clay and fiber.
6) Take a detox bath after doing the coffee enema.
You may drink 1 cup of “Smooth Move” tea at bedtime to help move your bowel content 2-3 times/day.
